Description
Pioneer Woman Turkey Cutlets are thin slices of turkey breast that are breaded and fried to golden perfection. They offer a lighter alternative to traditional fried chicken or pork cutlets while still delivering a satisfying crunch and juicy tenderness.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound turkey breast cutlets
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/4 cup olive oil (or your preferred cooking oil)
- Lemon wedges for serving (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the Cutlets: If your turkey cutlets are thick, place them between two sheets of plastic wrap and gently pound them with a meat mallet to about 1/4 inch thickness.
- Set Up Breading Stations: Place the flour in one shallow dish, beat the eggs in a second dish, and combine breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper in a third dish.
- Bread the Cutlets: Dredge each turkey cutlet in the flour, shaking off any excess. Dip into the beaten eggs, then coat thoroughly with the breadcrumb mixture.
- Heat the Oil: Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.
- Cook the Cutlets: Add the breaded turkey cutlets to the skillet, cooking for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Work in batches if necessary, to avoid overcrowding the skillet.
- Drain and Serve: Transfer the cooked cutlets to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. Serve hot with lemon wedges if desired.
