Description

Pioneer Woman’s Chorizo Burgers are a delicious combination of ground beef and spicy chorizo sausage, seasoned and grilled to perfection. The chorizo adds a rich, smoky flavor that elevates the classic burger, making it a standout dish for any occasion. Topped with your favorite burger fixings, these chorizo burgers are a flavorful and satisfying meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef (80/20 blend recommended)
  • 1/2 pound fresh chorizo sausage, casing removed
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 slices cheddar or pepper jack cheese (optional)
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • Toppings: lettuce, tomato, onion, avocado, pickles, or your favorite burger toppings
  • Condiments: mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, or your favorite burger sauces

Instructions

  • Preheat the grill: Preheat your grill or grill pan to medium-high heat.
  • Combine the meats: In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef and chorizo sausage. Add the garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, ground cumin, salt, and black pepper. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.
  • Shape the patties: Divide the meat mixture into 4 equal portions and shape each portion into a patty about 3/4-inch thick. Use your thumb to make a small indent in the center of each patty to prevent them from puffing up as they cook.
  • Grill the burgers: Place the patties on the preheated grill. Cook for 4-5 minutes per side, or until the burgers reach your desired level of doneness. If using cheese, add a slice to each patty during the last minute of cooking, covering the grill to melt the cheese.
  • Toast the buns: While the burgers are grilling, lightly toast the hamburger buns on the grill until golden brown.
  • Assemble the burgers: Spread your choice of condiments on the bottom half of each bun. Place the chorizo burger patties on top, followed by your favorite toppings. Add the top bun and serve immediately.
