Description

The Pioneer Woman Tiramisu is a delectable version of the classic Italian dessert, crafted by Ree Drummond, also known as the Pioneer Woman. This version stays true to the traditional flavors of tiramisu, with layers of coffee-soaked ladyfingers, creamy mascarpone filling, and a dusting of cocoa powder, while offering a simplified approach that makes it accessible to home cooks.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 large eggs, separated
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 cups mascarpone cheese
  • 1 ½ cups heavy cream
  • 2 cups strong brewed coffee, cooled
  • ½ cup coffee liqueur (optional)
  • 2 packs of ladyfingers
  • Cocoa powder, for dusting
  • Dark chocolate shavings (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Coffee Mixture: Combine the brewed coffee and coffee liqueur (if using) in a shallow dish and set aside.
  2. Make the Mascarpone Filling: Beat the egg yolks and sugar in a bowl until thick and pale. Fold in the mascarpone cheese until smooth.
  3. Whip the Cream: In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form, then gently fold it into the mascarpone mixture.
  4. Beat the Egg Whites: In another bowl, beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form. Fold them into the mascarpone mixture.
  5. Soak the Ladyfingers: Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the coffee mixture, ensuring they are soaked but not soggy.
  6. Assemble the Tiramisu: Arrange a layer of soaked ladyfingers at the bottom of a dish. Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers. Repeat the layers with the remaining ladyfingers and mascarpone mixture.
  7. Chill and Serve: Dust the top with cocoa powder and chocolate shavings. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight before serving.
