  • 1 bag (30 ounces) frozen hash browns, thawed
  • 1 can (10.5 ounces) condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 can (10.5 ounces) condensed cream of chicken soup
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 bell pepper, diced (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil or butter
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven: Set it to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook the ground beef: In a large skillet, heat olive oil or butter over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and bell pepper, and sauté until softened. Add ground beef and cook until browned. Drain any excess fat.
  3. Combine the ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the hash browns, cooked ground beef, both soups, sour cream, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  4. Add cheese: Fold in 1 1/2 cups of the shredded cheddar cheese into the mixture.
  5. Transfer to baking dish: Spread the mixture evenly in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
  6. Top with remaining cheese: Sprinkle the remaining 1/2 cup of cheddar cheese on top.
