- 2 1/2 cups elbow macaroni
- 4 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 2 cups shredded Monterey Jack cheese
- 2 cups milk
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the macaroni: Cook the elbow macaroni according to the package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- Mix the cheeses: In a large bowl, combine the cheddar and Monterey Jack cheeses.
- Combine wet ingredients: In another bowl, whisk together the milk, heavy cream, sour cream, and melted butter.
- Layer ingredients: Spray the slow cooker with non-stick spray. Add a layer of macaroni, then a layer of mixed cheeses. Repeat until all ingredients are used.
