- 1 large onion, sliced
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 cup barbecue sauce
- 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
- Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the brisket: Trim excess fat from the brisket if desired. Pat the brisket dry with paper towels.
- Season the brisket: In a small bowl, mix together paprika, smoked paprika, black pepper, salt, onion powder, garlic powder, and cayenne pepper. Rub the spice mixture all over the brisket.
- Prepare the slow cooker: Place the sliced onion and minced garlic in the bottom of the slow cooker.
- Add the brisket: Place the seasoned brisket on top of the onions and garlic.
- Mix the liquids: In a medium bowl, combine beef broth, barbecue sauce, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, and brown sugar. Pour the mixture over the brisket.
- Cook the brisket: Cover and cook on low for 7-8 hours, or until the brisket is tender and easily shredded with a fork.
- Rest and slice: Once cooked, remove the brisket from the slow cooker and let it rest for about 10 minutes. Slice the brisket against the grain.
- Serve: Serve the brisket with the onions and sauce from the slow cooker. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.
