Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb cooked shrimp, peeled and deveined, chopped
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1/4 cup sour cream
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon hot sauce (optional)
- 2 green onions, finely chopped
- 1/4 cup finely chopped celery
- 1/4 cup finely chopped red bell pepper
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the shrimp: If using fresh shrimp, cook them until pink and opaque, then chop into small pieces. If using pre-cooked shrimp, simply chop them into small pieces.
- Mix the base: In a large bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, mayonnaise, and sour cream. Mix until smooth and well blended.
- Add flavorings: Stir in the lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce (if using), green onions, celery, red bell pepper, and garlic. Mix until all ingredients are evenly distributed.
- Incorporate shrimp: Gently fold the chopped shrimp into the mixture, ensuring they are evenly coated.
- Season: Add salt and pepper to taste, mixing well to combine.
- Chill: Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour to allow the flavors to meld.
- Serve: Transfer the shrimp dip to a serving bowl, garnish with fresh parsley if desired, and serve with crackers, fresh vegetables, or bread.
