Ingredients

  • 6 cups of thinly sliced potatoes
  • 2 cups of diced turkey ham
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cups of shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup of milk
  • 1 cup of heavy cream
  • 3 tablespoons of butter
  • 3 tablespoons of all-purpose flour
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon of paprika

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Butter a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  3. Layer half of the sliced potatoes in the dish.
  4. Sprinkle half of the diced turkey ham and chopped onions over the potatoes.
  5. Repeat with remaining potatoes, turkey ham, and onions.
  6. In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat.
  7. Whisk in flour and cook for 1 minute.
  8. Gradually add milk and cream, whisking constantly until thickened.
  9. Stir in shredded cheese, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  10. Pour the cheese sauce over the layered potatoes and turkey ham.
  11. Cover the dish with foil and bake for 40 minutes.
  12. Remove foil and bake for an additional 20-25 minutes until bubbly and golden.
  13. Let it cool for 10 minutes before serving.
