Instructions

  1. Prepare the beef: Season beef with salt and pepper.
  2. Brown the beef: Heat oil in a large skillet and brown beef on all sides.
  3. Sauté the onions and garlic: Add onions and garlic to the skillet; cook until softened.
  4. Add liquids and seasonings: Stir in beef broth, red wine, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, tomato paste, thyme, and bay leaf.
  5. Simmer the beef: Cover and simmer until beef is tender, about 1.5 to 2 hours.
